The Brothers Bond turn 3

I know I am late in posting this, but life has been busy and today is the first opportunity to sit, upload, download, edit and blog that I have had in a few weeks.

The spent most the day before preparing for their party. It was a nightmare to say the least. I worked from sun up til sun down baking cakes and cupcakes, gathering serving pieces, preparing party favors, preparing the boys' shirts to wear.

As I know it would be more convenient to buy their cakes from a professional, I do get joy out of making their own. Well..at least after the party. As I was preparing the baked goods, I didn't find much joy for this birthday. As the fate of CB's cake ended up on the kitchen floor as I was decorating the cupcakes to look like baseballs. Trying to remain calm, I removed CB to the bathroom as he was covered in icing and didn't want it smeared more than it already was in my kitchen. If you notice the bald spot on the cake, that is where our dog Gizmo was licking. I caught her just before she took a big bite of what she thought was manna from Heaven. Because I didn't have time to make another, I cut the bottom of the cake that landed on the floor and scraped off all the icing and re-iced it. I guess it was ok, as we are living to tell about it. Their cakes and cupcakes may not be made with perfection by a professional, but they are made with love.

This past birthday theme was "Sports". We reserved the gym at our church and set up stations featuring a different sport for the guests to play. Uncle Wade and Aunt Tracy gave the boys a soccer set that we put together. JB made a field goal to kick a football through. We got the boys a putting green that was set to play. Along with a basketball goal and t-ball set, our friends seemed to enjoy the free rain of playing what they wanted. Cousin Alex taught our "girlfriends" a cheer.

We enjoyed chunk cheese, smokies, chicken nuggets, chips with dip, grapes, M&M's, cupcakes, and drinks. (Most wouldn't care to know what we served, but if you knew my family that read this...it's what interests them the most)

The boys have enjoyed all their gifts which have been a kind of respit for me. It has given them new interests.

The boys celebrated another party that they had at JB's parents the following weekend. I was not able to attend due to previous obligations. But I heard that fun was had by all.

Unmotivational Speaking...

As you have noticed, I haven't posted in quite sometime. Truth is, I just haven't been motivated and not just in blogging but in many areas. Last week I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to prepare for the boys' birthday party so this week, I've just kinda "vegged out". I've actually got plenty to blog about, just haven't been motivated to do so. I've got pictures that need to be uploaded onto the computer from the camera and then edited before they can be posted.

Maybe next week I'll be a little more motivated and can inform the world of our happenings.

Until next time, have a great weekend, HB

Riding in Cars with Boys...

It's interesting being the only female in my car full of boys. They ask questions that only their mamma can answer. I guess I was broken in while working with children as a social worker in that nothing surprises me nor really embarrasses me when it comes to conversations with my boys. This a conversation we had on a way home from Wal-Mart the other day:

BB: "Mamma, you a gal?"

Me: "Yes, Mamma is a girl."

CB: "Mamma, you wear panties?"

Me: "Yes, Mamma wears panties."

BB: "Mamma, I a boy?"

Me: "Yes, you and brother are boys."

CB: "Mamma, I wear unnawear?"

Me: "Yes, you and brother wear underwear."

BB: "I a boy cause I wear unnawear."

Me: "Well actually you wear underwear because you are a boy...You aren't a boy because you underwear."

BB: "Huh?"

Me: "Yes, you and brother are boys because you underwear."

What Happened to Your Shirt?

Me: "What happened to your shirt, CB?"

CB: "Elmo, tee-teed!"

Thanks, Daddy...AKA Pappaw for finding humor in a perfectly stained now ruined t-shirt. :0)

It's a 10!

Well, I'm definitely not Oprah in that I can't sponsor some huge give-a-way when it comes to my favorite things. However, I can share with you via my blog some things that I use daily or occasionally that I have found to be worth the extra money or have found worth having.

I'll post these as I have time, but for now I would like to introduce to you (some may have already heard of this or use it)....It's a 10 Miracle Hair Mask.

It gets it's name because it is supposed to do 10 Miraculous things to your hair:

1 Detangles

2 Restores Moisture Balance

3 Instantly Restores Elasticity

4 Softens

5 Smoothes

6 Imparts Luminous Shine

7 Enhances Natural Body

8 Nourishes

9 De Frizzes

10 Improves Color Vibrancy

My cousin is a cosmetologist and introduced me to this product. The first time I used, my friend Stephanie asked what I had done different to my hair. I knew it was worth the $30 if someone could tell the difference it made. She then bought her some and has like it also.

My hair is naturally frizzy giving me more of a fuzzy hair style when it's not tamed. I am not one that is blessed to have the type of hair that can naturally dry and still look like you just walked out of a salon. When my hair naturally dries, it's resembles the fuzz your vacuum cleaner gets when vacuuming new carpet. It's terribly frizzy and must be tamed before going out in public.

With It's a 10, my hair is smooth, straight, soft and shiny. After shampooing, you apply it and leave it in 5 to 10 minutes. After the 5 to 10 minutes, you rinse and you immediately notice the difference. I only have to use it 2 to 3 times a week.

I then roll brush my hair when drying. I typically have to use a flat iron, but when I started using It's A 10, I didn't have to use the flat iron. Roll brushing with the hair dryer was enough. Now, that's a Miracle!

Until next time, these are a few of my favorite things, HB
