This fall season has brought about some dusty days in the Delta. It has been dry, dusty and windy. Some of the fields are barren after the crop has been harvested leaving nothing but the dirt and dust. And since it hasn't rained here in weeks almost months, these dry, barren fields mixed with wind produces "dust devils".
Several weeks ago, my dad and I traveled some of the back roads of the Delta when heading to the "hills". The wind was blowing, the farmers were harvesting and the dust devils were whirling. Certainly not what you find anywhere else in my state.
