Sorry for the lack of blogs lately. First, I am busy monogramming for the upcoming Faith InDeed Fall Shopping Event. If you haven't noticed yet, details are on the side of my blog. I will blog the details about this closer to the event.
Second, I have been sick the past few days with bronchitis/sinus infection/sore throat/laryngitis/funk/"the crud"/and whatever else comes with this draining aggravation of illness.
Third, JB flew out today for a 5 night business trip to Atlanta. He is going to be trained on some software that he will in turn use here to enhance his job responsibilities. Seriously, every time he goes out of town either the boys or I get sick right before he leaves. Bless his heart, it makes him feel worse about being gone even more.
We didn't make it church for obvious reasons but instead we are just relaxing here at home. The boys are surprisingly calm, I think they can tell I am not feeling well. CB is enthralled with the Incredible Dog Challenge, a dog agility competition on TV. He is currently watching the Diving Dog event. When the show is interrupted by a commercial, he starts whining, "Doooooggggg wwiiimmmmiiiinnggg, Mamma?" Asking where are the dogs swimming.
BB must think the floor needs vacuuming as he runs his "golf caddy" around the den floor as a vacuum cleaner saying, "make a mess, mamma, bacuum" and "beep, beep, mamma" for me to raise my legs so he can bacuum up the mess.
Now the dog show is over and CB whines "sssseeee doooggs, mamma". I guess he's gonna be dog lover like his parents and grandparents.
Alex, my niece, is in a little "cheer and tumble" competition today at the coliseum as part of the fair events. This is her first and I hate that I am not able to cheer her on in person. But rest assured, Meme and Pappaw, Nanna, and Pop will be there cheering enough for all of us. She definitely has a entourage to follow her. She has been taking cheer and tumble for the past few months and seems to be doing very well. I wish her the best of luck and whatever the outcome, I hope she has fun.
I must go now and retrieve about 10 baby wipes the boys have thrown in the toilet. I take back what I said about them being calm. I just wish I had half their energy.
Until next time, HB

The Church Gossiper
Mildred, the church gossiper, and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused Frank, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pick-up parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon. She emphatically told Frank (and several others) that everyone seeing it there would know what he was doing.
Frank, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny ... he said nothing.
Later that evening, Frank quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house ... walked home ... and left it there all night!!!
You gotta love Frank.

Our New Tadpole Hole
The boys and I have started going to a different Y other than the Reservoir Y. This one is newer, bigger, and best of all, has an indoor pool. This allows for my "tadpoles" to swim all year long. The pool only goes as deep as 4 feet and has an incline instead of steps. This pool is used for the Y's therapy and water aerobics pool but for a couple hours of the day, it is opened for "Family Swim Time". We are usually the only ones there with the exception of the lifeguard.
As most of you know, CB LOVES the water while BB is slightly less enthused but does enjoy the time. I've enjoyed this time also as it provides more activities for us that is not limited by weather.
And speaking of the Y...my parents have recently joined. My dad often joins us for the workout trips while my mom attends on the days she is off. I have enjoyed having daddy for the help but most of all having an exercise buddy. The boys also enjoy him being there when we pick them up from the "playroom" as we call it. Also, a weight update... Since I joined in March, I have reached my initial goal of loosing 10 lbs. My next goal is to loose 5 more. However, I am not so pressured to loose that last 5 as I have been satisfied with the weight loss so far and been able to maintain it.
CB loves to "foat" with his new floating suit.Until next time, "It's fun to play at the Y M C A", HB

Calgon, Take me Away!

The much anticipated, much needed, and long overdue time has arrived. Some girlfriends and I are headed to the beach for our annual spa weekend. This is the 2nd year that we will have gone. We are getting massages, pedicures, and manicures. And of course doing some shopping and eating all the seafood we want. It is such a fun memorable time with great friends that feel more like family.
I will post pictures when I get back...that is if we come back!?!?!
Until next time, relaxing at the beach, HB

Anger Management
Sometimes when you are angry with someone, it helps to sit down and think about the problem.

I got this through email from my SIL (thanks, Angie). This picture reminds me of my boys. Only, they do it to provoke anger not to manage it. Then I'm the one who needs the anger management after prying them off each other for the 3rd and 4th time.
Until next time, CB, get off your brother....now, BB, you get off of CB, HB
Bet You Didn't Know...

What My Mother Taught Me...
I received this through email from my cousin. (Thanks, Denise) I thought it to be funny but accurate. Hope you enjoy as you might realize that you, too, are repeating some of the wisdom taught by your mother.
1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE. "If you're going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning."
2. My mother taught me RELIGION. "You better pray that will come out of the carpet."
3. My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL.. "If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week!"
4. My mother taught me LOGIC. " Because I said so, that's why."
5. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC. "If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."
6. My mother taught me FORESIGHT. "Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."
7. My mother taught me IRONY. "Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about." (I so remember this statement and I am determined not use it~HB)
8. My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS. "Shut your mouth and eat your supper."
9. My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM. "Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!"
10. My mother taught me about STAMINA. "You'll sit there until all that spinach is gone."
11. My mother taught me about WEATHER. "This room of yours looks as if a tornado went through it."
12. My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY. "If I told you once, I've told you a million times. Don't exaggerate!"
13. My mother taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE. "I brought you into this world, and I can take you out."
14. My mother taught me about BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION. "Stop acting like your father!"
15. My mother taught me about ENVY. "There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don't have wonderful parents like you do."
16. My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION. "Just wait until we get home."
17. My mother taught me about RECEIVING. "You are going to get it when you get home!"
18. My mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE. "If you don't stop crossing your eyes, they are going to get stuck that way."
19. My mother taught me ESP. "Put your sweater on; don't you think I know when you are cold?"
20. My mother taught me HUMOR. "When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."
21. My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT. "If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up."
22. My mother taught me GENETICS. "You're just like your father."
23. My mother taught me about my ROOTS. "Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?"
24. My mother taught me WISDOM. "When you get to be my age, you'll understand."
25. And my favorite: My mother taught me about JUSTICE. "One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you."
Until next time...Thanks, Mom, HB
